Dracula (f.k.a. King Sherb) - Hiker Trash
Last year I lauded Hiker Trash for having some of the best value smoke you can find among DMV menus, and in a larger scope I think his offerings still stand out, especially for value. Hiker Trash only does direct to patient in Maine, so you won’t find him in any retailers, whereas it’s the opposite outside of Maine, so prices can be a bit hard to pin down. In the DMV market, their flower saw a $30 decrease per oz, which for living soil flower puts it in what I referred to for years as “mythical ticket” status. Hiker Trash’s flowers have been an easy recommendation since the previous positioning, and now it’s a no brainer. A lot of you probably have friends where if you see them smoking on something a lot you know it’s fire even if the terps aren’t for you. In my case, my close friend Best Coast Terps in NYC had been twisting up hash holes of this almost nightly, and these terps are exactly in my wheelhouse. Dracula is a hybrid of Blue Sherb x OGKB 2.1, originally called King Sherb from In House Genetics. Despite this nug being dense and super resinous, it arrived a little bit dry, and while in my book this is acceptable for the price and only minimally impacts the smoothness, other enthusiasts would be valid in finding this unacceptable. All that said, I smoked this eighth in my Flower Pot setup faster than I’ve smoked something in a while. The scent and the flavor are basically confectionary kerosene, hitting that brightest gas note before it hits astringency. With that flavor profile comes the slump and euphoria you expect from OG/Cookie hybrids and the way it hits the palate is the type of taste I obsess over. The effect doesn’t have a crushing crash on the end of it despite the notable head change, and it feels very clean. Overall, despite the issues with this specific sample, this is a flavor I would want more of for the head and one I really want to try again for a redemption re-visit. These flavors from this tech are still an easy recommendation that my jaw would’ve dropped to the floor about half a decade ago.
