Shadow Banned - Shiva’s Stash/YMP
Shiva’s Stash has been dropping banger after banger on the Shmu menu since 2023 when we first got Aparigraha. In 2024, we got incredible batches of Sour Disel Bx4 that was on my Notable Smokes list, and their Om Mani Padme Hum x Sour Diesel Skunktek cut, both of which were some formidable gas with more modern structure and effects. Much of Shiva’s work is hybrids of Mendo Breath, the Gage Green Group collab with Mendo Dope, especially from this newest Shmu drop. Shadow Banned is a Mendo Breath back cross, being Mendo Breath x Gringo Loco (Mendo Breath x Vanilla Kush), and if you’re looking for green weed that hits, this is it. Mendo Breath is normally notable for its intense perfume-department fragrance, but that pungency is carried over to something that leans much more on the vanilla gas notes. On flavor, that translates to heavy gas with strong halitosis. This strain isn’t what I would consider the most intense outright potency, but it’s stimulating on multiple parts of the body and is appreciably relaxing. This one would probably be most fun in a joint share with friends than smoking alone for that shared feeling of euphoria. Overall, this is a really awesome showing from Shiva but it doesn’t quite match the heights I’ve seen from him previously, and that’s a statement about how good his flower can get. This is still free, excellently manicured and clearly well cared for flower and is certainly worth checking out, especially for first time Mendo Breath triers. Shiva also let me know that his flowers cure more ideally at 4-6 weeks, so I have the other pheno, Shadow Banned #2, sitting in a 150ml Miron, and that will get reviewed when it’s done curing.
