Assassin OG - Right Coast Reserve
OG is in a way the defacto godfather of modern weed, and due to growing pains, niche demand and over saturation, it’s not often you see whole operations that focus on them. Right Coast Reserve is keeping the OG flame alive in Maine with cuts like Ghost OG as well as fostering newer fire in the form of their Marshmallow OG and Sour x Irene OG. Assassin OG is right in the middle being a newer school selection that’s a very sour leaning gas that brings me nostalgia for a Sour OG I had when I was living in New York City in Summer 2018. If the leading narrative is to be believed, Assassin OG is an lemon-leaning OG cut from the Soul Assassin crew. RCR presents these as dense spear shaped golf ball nugs, and the eye appeal barely does justice to the bigger picture of quality. The sample came really fresh, and it absolutely erupts with that lemon rind new leather pungency. The flavor doesn’t carry the notes over quite as strong, being more of a raunchy gas, but the experience post-smoke is where this sample exceeds. The potency both from the head change and the muscle relaxation are upper echelon and make me feel exactly the relaxation I want from a prime OG expression. The effect is suitable for sleep aid, but I’ve been smoking it earlier in the day and I don’t feel like I need a nap afterwards. Overall, in a world where OG has become almost a boutique experience, Right Coast Reserve brings something more accessible without sacrificing the OG essentials. It’s some seriously smooth Kush and I’d love to see more stuff like this hit local menus.
