Berry Blossom - Hash Kitty
Sour Wavez and LeFlame were kind enough to hook me up with two flavors of rosin for review. I already covered Gelonade before from the main Sour Wavez brand, but I was also given the choice between a couple of flavors of Hash Kitty as well and ended up with the Berry Blossom. I generally have mixed feelings about the kawaii/anime aesthetic on cannabis, but looking into Hash Kitty’s page, it’s clear this is a reflection of her interests and values. I chose this one because it smelled pretty clearly of Z notes, and in my opinion Z rosin has the highest quality ceiling. The rosin arrived pretty saucy, which I would knock for just about any other strain, but is par for the course in the Z part of the gene pool. If you had Super Dope Brand’s rosin in 2022 and 2023, this flavor reminds me of Mega Z Blue or Mega Z Red. The aroma is distinctive of grapefruit rinds and watermelon Jolly Ranchers, but those notes hit way harder in the flavor. When dabbing, a hotter that normal dab will give you a flavor more on the citrus gas side, where as a lower temp dab will hit more like fruit and candy. It’s a bit hard to lock perfectly into the temp, but even hot dabs burn really clean and are quite smooth on the inhale. Like I’ve mentioned before, whether or not Z is potent for you depends a bit on your body chemistry. Z hits as relaxing and eye droopy for me without being unfunctional, and I found the Berry Blossom had more outright potency than I was expecting. Overall, my expectations for these flavors were maybe a bit unfairly low, and the rosin is very clean, flavorful and cozy in effect. While my standards for Z hybrids are high, Berry Blossom checks a lot of boxes and I for sure be savoring this rosin until I clear the jar.
