Seabiscuit - Gotti x Deep East Oakland
Every time I’ve tried Gotti I’ve been pleasantly surprised by the quality of the sample, but Seabiscuit is probably the most exciting yet. The last time I smoked Deep East was two or three years ago and I was not impressed due to how unclean the smoke was. So far, everything I’ve smoked from Gotti has been of great quality and super smooth smoke, and this is not exception. Seabiscuit is a cross of Rainbow Sherb F2 x Y Bx2 originally bred by Deep East a few years ago for his pheno hunt release. If you’ve smoked RS11 or Zoap, the nose and the flavor are similar with a fruity sweetness, but it’s not quite the “terp flavored air” level of saturation you get from a really good Zoap. The Y Life in the lineage also brings a confectionary thumbprint cookie note that translates as super relaxing and calming in the head change. Even though the nugs arrives a little bit dense and smushed, it still smokes great and is reasonably potent. Overall, this is another great entry from Gotti, but at the time of release there are some other options that smoke as well and are less expensive. It’s finally a really fire entry from Deep East’s stable, which is super exciting, but I’d love to see another batch that was a little bit better eye appeal or less expensive.
